Steve joined Kuchler Polk Weiner in 2017 after spending 22 years with his former firm. His practice has focused on maritime defense litigation, including both offshore and inland incidents involving personal injuries and death, collisions, allisions, sinkings, breakaways, towage, well blowouts, dredging and pipeline damage, cargo contamination, and complex contractual defense and indemnity or additional insured disputes.
Steve also has significant experience in environmental and toxic tort litigation involving alleged contamination and personal injury due to oil-and-gas exploration and production operations, trucking and transportation litigation, general property and casualty litigation, and insurance coverage litigation involving marine, commercial property, energy, and general liability insurance matters. He has handled oilfield pollution and remediation cases from both a defense and an insurance coverage perspective. He has tried or handled cases in Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Texas, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Steve is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association.
Steve graduated cum laude from Florida State University in 1991 with a B.S. in Finance. He then obtained his J.D. from the Paul M. Hebert Law Center at Louisiana State University in 1994. While in law school, he worked for the Louisiana Attorney General in the Civil Division, where he prepared opinions regarding an array of state statutes and constitutional provisions and liaised with numerous elected and appointed officials.
Steve lives in Metairie, Louisiana, with his wife, Michele, and his two sons. When he is not working, he enjoys fishing, hunting, and other outdoor activities.
