Kuchler Polk Weiner was founded 11 years ago committed to diversity and recognizing the value that each individual brings to an organization. George Floyd’s brutal death in Minneapolis has brought the nation’s attention to what happens when human beings are neither valued nor treated equally under the law, regardless of skin color.
Our firm does not tolerate racism. And we stand in solidarity with those voices around the country who are calling for justice in response to the taking of black lives and who are demanding action and real change. In addition to facilitating the provision of snacks and water to those participating in peaceful protests in our community, the firm held sessions during which we listened and learned from those who had powerful stories to share about racism. Along with 18 other leading private law firms, Kuchler Polk Weiner has also joined Justice Lab—ACLU of Louisiana’s initiative to challenge racially discriminatory policing practices.
This is a time to be informed, kind, and proactive. We pledge to be all of those things in these challenging times.
